ShatterGuard RT
The Ultimate Protection for Equipment Glass
Unprotected equipment glass gets hit and breaks during transportation. The decision to safeguard it with a reliable solution is straightforward. The safest, fastest, and easiest way to do so, is ShatterGuard RT.
Numerous major construction sites across Canada are revising safety protocols, prohibiting truckers from climbing onto equipment—positioned on trailers—to install traditional snap-in-place or tie-in-place windshield covers. This change is due to an increase in accidents involving drivers falling during the installation process. Given the risk of Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) and insurance liability claims against employers and project stakeholders, this policy shift is both understandable and justifiable.

Innovative Solution
ShatterGuard RT allows drivers to maintain three-point contact when climbing from the equipment to the trailer deck. The installation process is simplified: the driver merely pulls down on the draw strap and secures the spring-loaded cover in place. This innovation significantly reduces the risk of accidents during the installation process.
Evolution of ShatterGuard RT
Originally known as the G1 Industrial Windshield Protector, ShatterGuard RT has undergone extensive design and manufacturing refinements over its 20-year history by Lauries Portable Boring of Penhold, Alberta, Canada.
Laurie Gibson, the proprietor, has meticulously handcrafted each unit since the product's inception around 2000.
Laurie admits today, the frustrations he often encountered during the tweaking process of the G1 over its early history. This led to "kicking the dang thing under the bench", more than once. However, the solutions that often hit him during sleepless nights, inevitably led to dragging it out from under the bench, and forging ahead. It was just too good an idea, in his judgement, to give up on. The G1 design was indeed perfected by Laurie, and after initiating the patenting process, slowly became the primary focus of Lauries Portable Boring.

Partnership with Cameron Services Inc.
As the owner of Cameron Services Inc., I have been an advocate of Laurie's invention from the outset. Our company, specializing in equipment maintenance and repair within the pipeline industry—a sector that initially contributed significantly to the G1's market penetration—has actively promoted and installed the product. We are now proud to have become the exclusive distributors of the newly named ShatterGuard RT, and work with Laurie as he continues to hand build each and every unit.
